What Remains, Siobhan Davies Studio, May 21-22
We each take a slightly different approach to ‘every contact leaves a trace’. Our separate influences combined and overlapping. Alan Paterson‘s approach through images, are both permanent yet transient views, of past events. Bill Thompson revisits his own work, extracting, remixing, revealing the drift within, laying bare the remaining traces, revealing what has dissolved. In Ian Spink‘s older body, physical memory has faded faster than the connections he attaches to objects or images. On revisiting these he sees a new landscape; layers, sediments, compressed. He may discover new ways through but will never be able to grasp the whole thing.
