Trees Talk, Citymoves and Plan B.
Trees Talk was a collaborative residency between myself (Bill Thompson aka prof_lofi) and choreographer Ian Spink, held at Citymoves Dance Space and Plan B in Scotland earlier this year. During this time we worked closely with video and light artist Alan Paterson, vocalist Judith Williams, and dancers Skye Reynolds, Penny Chivas, and Hannah Venet, to explore ideas relating to our relationship and impact on landscape, environment, and natural resources. Quietly Untitled, a silent film by sound artist and composer Bill Thompson aka prof_lofi, premiered as part of Ross Whyte’s Orphans event on March 4th, 2012 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Trees Talk Dance Project, August 13-24th
Participating in TREES TALK – 2012, a movement based research project with choreographer/director Ian Spink, and video artist Alan Paterson. Aberdeen (CityMoves Aug 13-17) and Alness (Plan B Aug 20-24)
The project involves local expert knowledge, live and pre-recorded video, movement, found text and sound to create a performance-ready piece of theatre based on the location of each residency.

Exchanging Worlds
Exchanging Worlds is a multi dimensional project that connects the AWO to Suffolk and the region, through an online platform, an installation and the creation of an elite performance ensemble of under 18’s.
Exchanging Worlds will welcome the world through a project that connects international AWO participants to a diverse group of Suffolk young people. AWO members will be invited to record and submit digital audio and visual files that reflect their lives in some way, whilst the five Suffolk based groups will use this material to create new compositions. Groups will be facilitated, tutored and supported by a team of composers, artists, technologists and sound designers. The project will culminate in an interactive installation, live performances and a virtual online element in 2012.
As part of Exchanging Worlds we will also establish a creative performance ensemble made up of exceptional young musical talent (under 18’s) through Aldeburgh Young Musicians (AYM). This commissioning ensemble will more…

Citymoves Dance Residency with Ian Spink, 2012
Sound artist and composer Bill Thompson aka prof_lofi will be participating in a residency with choreographer Ian Spink and video artist (TBC) during at City moves to develop his lates work, Trees Talk.
John Cage Musicircus with EXAUDI, June 23rd
Sound artist and composer Bill Thompson aka prof_lofi will be performing Cage’s Songbooks with students from UEA and EXAUDI as part of Aldeburgh Music John Cage Centenary Concert.
Other orignal works (by myself and others) will be performed in tribute to Cage at the Pumphouse.
